A dark, dystopian wasteland of sound, Pulse of Dread is a four oscillator polyphonic synth designed with multisamples and wavetables to create dramatic tension and cinematic dread. It's for the full version of Kontakt 7.
It's designed for horror and sci-fi scores for films and games. It's pulse width modulation lends itself to dark sci-fi themes, drones, and pulse runs. It also contains the new pitch section for wailing, multi-oscillator madness or mysterious pads.
It uses an engine similar to Strings of Dread and shares its user interface for ease of use. It has a wavetable and pulse width modulation oscillators as well as two 96 khz multisampled oscillators. There is also a 64 step apreggiator and portamento. There are 11 resonant filter options with LFO and envelope modulation. Every filter and every oscillator has envelopes and LFOs to control modulation. All of these are editable.
Included patches contain scary stabs, wailing pads, and PWM slabs, 112 dark patches for tension and 54 multis for throbbing terror. There are a lot of classic 80s horror sounds and Lovecraftian synth ambiences. There are a lot of possibilities for horror-core and industrial sound design.
